With Dutch Surinamese model and cultural phenomenon Gia Bab a new star is born. Her career gained momentum when she met Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry in Berlin in the Summer of 2020. Tisci was struck by Bab's otherworldly beauty and Amazonian look. After making her one of the faces of his S/S22 fashion show, Gia became one of Tisci's muzes alongside established models such as Irina Skayk and Maria Boscono. It is clear that Gia's mission is to be an inspiration for others. "I want to be that example that I missed as a child. I want to be a role model for a younger generation of transgender models and girls. I want to be the one they see on the covers of magazines and be there for those within the LGBTQIA+ community who have no one to turn to.", says Bab. So far, during her skyrocketing career, she has been featured in many publications including the (her first ever) cover of Harper's Bazaar NL and a 20-page story for Vogue NL, to name a few.
